Quality Inspector -Precision Manufacturing

Blair Engineering in San Luis Obispo is hiring an experienced Quality Inspector to support high-precision turbomachinery manufacturing.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, shop-floor dimensional inspection position in a precision machining environment. You’ll work closely with machinists and engineering to ensure components meet exact specifications before moving to the next stage of production.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished machined components
• Verify compliance with blueprints and tight tolerances
• Use micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, calipers, height gauges, etc.
• Perform first article inspections
• Track and document non-conformances
• Review and organize Material Test Reports (MTRs)
• Ensure quality procedures are followed throughout production
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area

Qualifications

• 3 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills (GD&T preferred)
• Experience inspecting precision machined parts
• Proficient with standard precision measuring tools
• Detail-oriented and reliable
• Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Experience in CNC machining environments preferred.

Located in San Luis Obispo, serving the Central Coast region including Paso Robles, Atascadero, Arroyo Grande, and Santa Maria.
