What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Setup Machinist position at Blair Engineering?
We are looking for a hands-on CNC Lathe Setup Machinist for precision, low-volume machined components — not a production button-pusher role.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run CNC lathes for a range of parts
- Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds as needed
- Work from prints to produce accurate components
- Machine materials including aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys
- Inspect parts using standard measuring tools
- Maintain an organized work area
Equipment
- Haas CNC lathes
- DN Solutions / Doosan equipment
- Takisawa machines
- FANUC and Haas controls
Qualifications
- CNC lathe experience required
- Setup experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Familiarity with FANUC or Haas controls
- Detail-oriented and dependable
Work Environment
- Day shift, Monday through Friday
- Overtime available based on workload
Compensation & Benefits
- $34–$54/hour depending on experience
