We are a Minnesota based family-owned business with our main location in Blaine and have an opening for a 1st shift Trailer Mechanic / Technician for our Service Trucks in our Trailer Shop. We are looking for someone with mechanical aptitude; detail oriented; willing to jump in and help out where needed; clean driving record (CDL license preferred); and has a strong work ethic. This position handles the complete repair and general maintenance of semi-trailers, as well as, all other styles and sizes of trailers.
SCHEDULE:
1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm (approx. 40-60 hours per week)

Position Summary: responsible for repairing and restoring damaged semi-trailers to safe operating conditions. This role focuses primarily on structural and body repairs resulting from wear, accidents, and operational damage. The technician will perform repairs such as side panel replacement, base rail and top rail repair, roof repairs, and other structural trailer body work while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Essential Job Functions:
· Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
· Diagnose/ assess damage to semi-trailer bodies and structures.
· Perform side panel repairs and replacements on dry vans and other trailer types.
· Repair or replace base rails, top rails, and structural components.
· Perform roof repairs and roof skin replacements.
· Straighten and repair trailer body damage caused by accidents or heavy use.
· Remove and reinstall trailer components such as doors, panels, and interior structures as required for repairs.
· Perform aluminum and steel fabrication as needed for structural repairs.
· Use cutting, grinding, drilling, and fastening tools to complete repairs.
· Work with rivets, adhesives, sealants, and fastening systems common in trailer construction.
· Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Document repairs and communicate findings with service advisors and management.
Requirements

- Welding experience a plus
- Basic tool set and tool box to start (assistance programs available)
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
