Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using various techniques such as scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to ensure a spotless appearance.
- Handle cleaning tasks for carpets, including vacuuming and deep cleaning, to maintain fresh and hygienic surfaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, and extractors efficiently and safely.
- Use appropriate chemical agents for different cleaning tasks while adhering to safety protocols for chemical handling and environmental standards.
- Conduct manual handling of heavy cleaning supplies, furniture, or equipment with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas by sanitizing surfaces and managing waste disposal.
- Support floor care routines including stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors to prolong their lifespan and appearance.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with knowledge of janitorial procedures.
- Strong ability to handle floor cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
- Skilled in operating various cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet cleaners, and floor polishers.
- Excellent manual handling skills for heavy lifting and moving supplies or furniture safely.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, waxing, refinishing, and tile cleaning.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate professionally with staff or clients when needed.
- Familiarity with environmental services practices that promote sustainability and eco-friendly cleaning methods.
