Experienced Carpenter
Blackwater Builders is looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team. If you take pride in quality craftsmanship, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy building custom homes, we’d love to hear from you.
We build custom homes throughout the Grand Rapids area and are looking for someone who wants to grow with our company.
Responsibilities
- Construct custom homes alongside our experienced team
- Perform framing, roofing, siding, finish carpentry, and general construction tasks
- Read and follow blueprints and building plans
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Complete tasks independently with minimal supervision
- Produce quality work with attention to detail
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
- Show up on time and ready to work every day
- Communicate effectively and work well with the team
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of residential construction experience
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with framing and residential construction
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, dependable, and punctual
Compensation
- Starting at $25 /hour
- Compensation is negotiable after an initial trial period based on performance, reliability, craftsmanship, and skill level
