Robotics Repair Technician (2nd shift ) (2-10pm)
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Robotics Repair Technician (2nd shift) who can work as key members of our multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and repair complex robotic systems for our Atlas Robot fleet. This role is a unique blend of mechanical assembly and sophisticated electronic troubleshooting. You will be responsible for keeping our humanoid platforms operational, ensuring that one of the world's most advanced humanoid robots maintains peak performance during rigorous testing cycles.
Key Responsibilities
● Perform complex repairs and preventive maintenance on high-performance electric actuators.
● Utilize hand tools and torque wrenches to meet exacting tolerances; Atlas requires extreme precision to maintain balance and structural integrity.
● Use laptop computers, multimeters and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot power distribution systems, sensor arrays, and communication bus issues.
● Work within a Linux environment to run system checks, utilizing BASH scripts and Python routines to verify hardware health after repairs.
● Work closely with the technician and engineering teams to document hardware failures and suggest design improvements for increased reliability.
Required Qualifications
● 2-4 years of experience.
● Extensive experience with mechanical assembly and teardowns.
● Proficiency in reading schematics and using a multimeter for continuity and voltage testing.
● Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
● Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Preferred Technical Skills
● Comfort with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) command-line operations.
● Experience in Automotive, Aviation or specialty repair and maintenance.
● Ability to read/write basic BASH and Python for automation of repetitive test sequences.
● Experience with high-voltage battery systems and complex electro-mechanical systems.
