Responsibilities

• Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading and leveling asphalt using power tools and manual techniques
• Operate heavy equipment such as, graders, pavers, rollers, and skid steers to prepare and maintain construction sites
• Conduct traffic control for work zones to ensure safety for workers and the traveling public
• Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, material transport, and site cleanup in accordance with safety protocols
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance, repairs, or adjustments on equipment and infrastructure components
• Support highway maintenance activities and road construction projects by adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations
• Follow all safety procedures diligently while working outdoors on construction projects in a civil infrastructure role

Experience

• Prior construction site experience with a focus on asphalt paving is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as , graders, pavers, rollers, and skid steers safely and effectively
• Knowledge of mechanical systems related to construction machinery equipment is a plus
• Experience working under safety protocols in outdoor environments with heavy machinery and power tools
• Familiarity with traffic control measures for work zones and adherence to safety standards is required
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the workday
• Valid commercial truck driving license or experience operating large trucks is advantageous
