Service Advisor / Shop Coordinator
Blacktop Auto & Tire – Moundridge, KS
Blacktop Auto & Tire is looking for a dependable, organized, customer-focused person to help manage the front counter and daily flow of the shop.
This position is more than just answering phones. You’ll help keep the shop moving, make sure customers know what is happening with their vehicles, order parts, coordinate work, and help technicians stay productive.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and assist customers in person
- Schedule service appointments
- Write up repair orders and customer concerns
- Order parts and track parts deliveries
- Communicate with technicians throughout the day
- Help manage shop workflow and vehicle priority
- Monitor job progress and help improve throughput
- Keep customers updated on repair status and estimated completion times
- Explain recommended repairs and services in a way customers can understand
- Prepare estimates and review invoices with customers
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed
- Coordinate parts, labor, and scheduling so jobs move through the shop efficiently
- Help manage completed vehicles and customer pickup
- Maintain organized customer records and repair orders
- Assist with basic inventory and vendor communication
- Help handle customer questions or concerns
- Support the General Manager with daily shop operations
What We’re Looking For
- Strong customer-service skills
- Comfortable talking with customers in person and over the phone
- Organized and able to handle several things at once
- Dependable and able to work without constant supervision
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable using computers and learning shop-management software
- Able to work closely with technicians and management
- Automotive knowledge is helpful, but not required
Experience as a service advisor, parts counter employee, shop coordinator, automotive receptionist, or similar position is a plus.
Pay & Schedule
Competitive pay based on experience
Flexible scheduling is available.
Full-time or part-time may be considered depending on the applicant and shop needs.
