Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School is seeking qualified individuals to serve as on-call daily substitutes.
On-call position to assist in the frequent need for substitutes for academic and/or vocational teachers out on sick, personal or professional leave, when there is an emergency or when satisfactory qualified instructors are unavailable.

2025-2026 Rates:
Day to Day Substitute: $135.00/day
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.Prepare for the delivery of appropriate instruction in accordance with department goals and objectives following proven procedures.
2.Deliver organized instruction sequentially following program outlines and accepted pedagogical methods and techniques as appropriate to student learning styles and abilities.
3.Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating and supporting.
4.Cooperate with department Team Leaders in fulfilling the mission of the institution.
5.Abide by school procedures, rules and directives.
6.Maintain decorum and control of assigned students for the purposes of enhancing learning and ensuring a safe and healthful environment.
7.Utilize school support services as needed.
8.Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
9.The candidate must be able to inspire excellence, achieve consensus and respond effectively to the system's mission with humor and enthusiasm.
Qualifications
1.Prefer candidates with a teaching credential or working towards such credential, along with experience in an educational (secondary) setting is preferred, but not required.
2.Successful substitutes must be dependable, reliable, and regularly willing to accept work when called upon.
3.Possess successful background which insures capabilities to succeed as an instructor in the field of expertise.
4.Demonstrate characteristics which clearly indicate an ability to relate positively to students and colleagues.
5.Possess a clear sense of purpose as it pertains to teaching young people who attend this school.65.Possess a personal history which is exemplary, supported with references.
6.Possess current and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
7.Be physically and emotionally able to fulfill instructional responsibilities and duties.
