Job Overview
We are hiring a Quality Inspector to support welding, fabrication, assembly, and electrical control panel production. This role ensures all products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry quality standards, including weld acceptance criteria and UL 508A compliance.
This position is ideal for a hands-on quality professional experienced in weld inspection, dimensional inspection, and manufacturing quality control, with strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Weld Inspection & Fabrication Quality
- Perform visual weld inspections using engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications
- Verify weld size, profile, continuity, and overall workmanship
- Identify weld defects, including cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, undercut, overlap, and distortion
- Ensure compliance with welding procedures and fabrication standards
- Support weld traceability and quality documentation
Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection
- Inspect incoming machined, fabricated, and purchased components
- Perform in-process inspections during fabrication and assembly
- Conduct final inspections verifying dimensional accuracy, fit-up, alignment, and torque requirements
- Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Electrical Control Panel Inspection (UL 508A)
- Inspect industrial control panels for compliance with UL 508A standards
- Verify wiring, component installation, labeling, and overall panel construction quality
Quality Systems & Documentation
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Support Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities
- Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Verify calibration status of inspection tools and equipment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing inspection (welding, fabrication, or assembly)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of visual weld inspection and defect identification
- Experience using mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- UL Certified (Underwriters Laboratories) or ability/willingness to obtain certification for UL 508A inspection work
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or welding inspection training
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems
- Background in heavy fabrication, pump manufacturing, rotating equipment, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience in inspecting electrical control panels under UL 508A standards

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
