Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Physics  teacher position that is available at Blacksburg High School for SY 2025-2026. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's license with appropriate endorsement to teach Physics at the high school level (Science - All endorsements or Physics endorsement)
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Possesses the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a master’s degree in Education and/or the specific subject area
• Possesses endorsement to teach dual enrollment and AP courses

FLSA Status: Exempt

SALARY:  $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change due to 2026-2027 budget considerations)
