The position requires working the third shift from Monday to Friday, 11 PM - 7 AM, with additional overtime options on Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM - 7 PM.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process finished product samples, perform analytical testing using both instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
- Conduct daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
- Maintain samples of tested products to confirm test results when necessary.
- Document results of all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of any required adjustments.
- Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Understand production processes and provide recommendations to operators to achieve product quality.
- Perform light maintenance and calibration on all laboratory equipment.
- Maintain ongoing records of testing procedures and input data into the computer daily.
- Ensure adequate supplies for testing procedures and notify the supervisor when reordering is necessary.
- Compare equipment readouts with standard samples to ensure accurate system operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, washing and storing equipment as required.
- Foster an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
- Perform duties safely, utilizing all approved safety equipment and completing all safety certification requirements.
- Adhere to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and company standards and guidelines.
- 2 or more years of science degree.
- Good attendance history and excellent safety record.
- Proficient computer skills for lab instrument operation programs.
- Familiarity with commercial software applications like Excel and Word.
- Experience with lab documentation and operating standard lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer).
- Strong math skills for lab testing calculations.
- Previous plant experience is a plus.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and demonstrate good organizational skills.
- Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and proven housekeeping and sanitation skills.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and accurate record-keeping abilities.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
