We're looking for an experienced Welder/Fitter to join our team performing barge repair and marine fabrication. This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently fit, fabricate, and weld structural steel with minimal supervision while working in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

What You'll Do

• Fit, fabricate, and burn structural steel on barges, boats, and other marine projects.
• Perform layout work and accurately measure materials for fabrication.
• Weld in all positions using stick (SMAW) and wire (FCAW/GMAW) processes.
• Complete structural repairs and modifications on barges and marine vessels.
• Assist fitters and other team members as needed.
• Follow work instructions from lead personnel while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a combination Welder/Fitter in a shipyard, marine, or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to fit and weld with minimal supervision.
• Strong blueprint reading, layout, measuring, and fabrication skills.
• Proficiency welding structural steel using stick and wire processes.
• Ability to weld in all positions.
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification or an equivalent certification accepted for welding on inspected U.S. Coast Guard vessels.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, beneath barges, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to safety.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry materials and tools as required.
• Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and underneath vessels.
• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding conditions throughout the shift.
