Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding and fitting tasks to assemble, install, and repair piping systems, structural components, and equipment in various industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all work adheres to strict safety standards, quality specifications, and industry codes. Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques on diverse materials with varying conditions.
- Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, schematics, and pipefitting diagrams to accurately execute fabrication and installation tasks.
- Cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install piping systems for plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, and pipeline projects using hand tools and power tools while maintaining safety protocols.
- Measure components with calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools; perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Use pipe threading machines and tube benders to prepare piping sections for assembly in accordance with ASME codes & standards and NFPA standards.
- Conduct pipe welding and soldering operations with a focus on safety regulations; ensure all welds meet quality standards for strength and durability.
- Assist with rigging, pipe installation, maintenance tasks, and fabrication of structural components on construction sites or manufacturing facilities while adhering to safety regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, pipe welding, soldering, and fire sprinkler fitting techniques.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings; interpret technical specifications accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipefitting, plumbing systems, HVAC components, tube bending, pipe threading, assembly processes, and fabrication methods.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as calipers, wrenches, cutters; power tools including grinders, drills, pipe threaders; rigging equipment for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards and NFPA regulations; understanding of safety protocol adherence on construction sites or manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with construction plans for pipe installation or maintenance projects; knowledge of pipeline systems and sprinkler system installation is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material estimations; strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
