Area Manager – Natural Gas Operations in Redmond, OR or Klamath Falls, OR

We’re looking for an experienced Area Manager to lead natural gas operations across our clients Pacific Mountain Region.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands natural gas transmission/storage operations, field operations, safety, project management, and technical processes and knows how to build an accountable, safety-focused team.
In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance activities while leading and developing a team that includes employees represented by IBEW Local Union #77. You’ll have the opportunity to influence operational performance, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across the area.
Depending on the location of the successful candidate, this role may be filled in Redmond, OR or Klamath Falls, OR.
What You’ll Do
- Provide active field leadership and champion a strong safety culture across operating locations
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop employees while setting clear expectations and accountability for results
- Oversee operations and maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and continuous operation of facilities
- Ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety practices
- Support planning and management of capital, operating, and other budgets
- Conduct regular self-audits of processes including JSA, LOTO, work permits, and other critical safety procedures
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and critical partners
- Support emergency response activities, maintain required ICS training, and be prepared to serve as Incident Commander when needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as required
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical diploma in Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent training and experience may be considered
- 5 years of related experience, preferably including management or leadership responsibilities
- Natural gas transmission/storage or broader energy industry experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, engage, and develop teams
- Strong commitment to safety and environmentally responsible operations
- Experience working with diverse teams and creating an inclusive, collaborative environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing operational demands
- Sound business judgment with the ability to evaluate risk, cost, benefits, and operational considerations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and related applications
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to operating locations
