Our client is a highly regarded elite boutique investment bank with a market-leading advisory practice across the financial services sector. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint an Investment Banking Associate to join its New York-based Insurance team.
Working as part of a lean, entrepreneurial platform, the successful candidate will gain extensive exposure to senior decision-makers and play a key role in the execution of complex M&A and strategic advisory assignments. The role offers the opportunity to work with leading insurance companies, brokers, service providers, financial sponsors, and emerging technology-driven businesses shaping the future of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
The Associate will be actively involved in all aspects of transaction execution and client engagement, with responsibilities including:
- Building and reviewing detailed financial models and valuation analyses
- Preparing merger models, DCF analyses, leveraged buyout models, comparable company analyses and precedent transaction valuations
- Managing the execution process for live M&A, strategic advisory and capital raising transactions
- Producing high-quality client presentations, information memoranda and board materials
- Coordinating due diligence workstreams and liaising with counterparties and advisers
- Conducting market research and analysing trends across the insurance and broader financial services sectors
- Supporting senior bankers in the development of new business opportunities and client relationships
- Providing guidance and oversight to junior team members to ensure the delivery of best-in-class work product
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- 3β5 years of investment banking experience with a strong background in M&A advisory and transaction execution
- Prior experience within Insurance, FIG, Financial Services or a closely related sector is preferred
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities
- A sound understanding of transaction processes and corporate finance principles
- Knowledge of insurance markets, distribution models and sector dynamics would be advantageous
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to interact directly with senior management teams
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- A Bachelor's degree from a leading institution; additional professional qualifications are welcomed but not required
Salary : $175,000 - $225,000
