About the Role:
Blacklock is representing a leading elite boutique investment bank in the search for an Investment Banking Associate to join its Healthcare M&A team in New York.
Role Overview:
The Associate will work closely with senior bankers on the execution of complex M&A transactions and strategic advisory assignments for leading healthcare companies. This role offers significant transaction exposure, direct client interaction, and deep sector specialization across healthcare verticals including life sciences, pharma, biotech, medtech, and healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, as well as strategic advisory mandates within the healthcare sector
- Lead the development and review of detailed financial models, including DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and merger/LBO models
- Oversee the preparation of client materials, including pitch books, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, operating metrics, pipelines, and valuation drivers specific to healthcare and life sciences businesses
- Manage due diligence processes, including coordination with clients, legal advisors, and other third parties
- Supervise and mentor Analysts, while working closely with Vice Presidents and senior bankers
- Contribute to client relationship management and support business development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials (MBA or equivalent is a plus)
- 3–5 years of investment banking experience, preferably within healthcare M&A or a related sector
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skillset
- Familiarity with healthcare subsectors such as pharma, biotech, medtech, or healthcare services is preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and lead execution under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in client-facing situations
- High level of professionalism, strong work ethic, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
