The overall responsibility for the landscape estimator position is to be a friendly and professional first impression to potential clients for Blackjack Horticulture. This process will involve meeting with clients, performing take-offs, sourcing materials, and overall bidding/estimating functions related to the pricing and selling of work for new and existing clients.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Meet with new and existing clients
- Gather necessary measurements and information on properties and project sites
- Estimate materials, labor, equipment, and other functions necessary to perform work
- Work with existing bid templates and computer programs
- Perform take-offs and measurements on computer
- Work with co-workers in managing projects, ensuring a smooth handoff between estimating and operations
- Routinely follow up on submitted designs and bids

- Close rate/win rate

Requirements:
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong character, and solid work ethic
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- College degree in Horticulture is preferred, but not required
- Experience in landscape construction required
- Valid driver’s license, pass drug test and criminal background check
