To keep our crews and equipment running strong, we're looking for a reliable Mechanic Assistant to support our shop and fleet maintenance operations.
About the Role
As a Mechanic Assistant, you'll work alongside our lead mechanic to keep trucks, trailers, mowers, and landscape equipment in safe, reliable working condition. This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined who wants to build hands-on experience and grow their skills in fleet and equipment maintenance.
What You'll Do
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, mowers, and landscape equipment
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, tire checks, and other basic maintenance tasks
- Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment
- Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and parts inventory
- Assist with pickup and delivery of parts, equipment, or vehicles as needed
- Support the lead mechanic on larger repairs and projects
- Follow all safety protocols when working with tools, equipment, and vehicles
What We're Looking For
- Basic mechanical knowledge or prior experience with small engines, trucks, or equipment maintenance preferred
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop and outdoor environment
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
