Marketing Manager (Remote On-site for NYC Events)

Preferred Location: New York Metropolitan Area

General Description

To be responsible for planning, supervising, administering, and evaluating programs that increase attendance and ticket revenue for events, and maximize the visibility of the ensemble. Towards that goal, to execute public relations (press, program books, and newsletters); advertising (print, electronic, and social media); conduct season calendar and maintain follower relations (direct mail/email, telemarketing), and propose new subscriber/follower activities.

Marketing Planning

• Creates social media calendar, content and strategy, to be discussed and overseen by Executive Director
• Boosts social media contents or purchases necessary ads, to be overseen and approved by Executive Director
• Develops targeted publicity strategies and detailed promotional timelines for each project, to be discussed and overseen by Executive Director
• Creates plans and coordinates outreach to radio, print, online media, press outlets, and event calendars to maximize visibility, to be discussed and overseen by Executive Director
• Compiles and maintains an updated list of press and media contacts.
• Plans collaborative publicity campaigns with presenting organizations, festivals, universities, and partner institutions.
• Plans promotional and documentation needs for each project, including photography and videography, to be discussed and overseen by Executive Director
• Creates EPK, Pitch Deck for future promotion and presentations.

Marketing Management

• Creates and manages BlackBox Ensemble’s social media presence, campaigns for concerts, season announcements, based on the social media calendar.
• Creates and manages campaigns for fundraising initiatives and special projects, to be discussed/overseen by Executive Director
• Maintains consistent online engagement and content between major campaigns, for example, sharing/posting stories, answering questions if anyone messages through social media channels, etc.
• Collaborates with communications and marketing teams at partner organizations to coordinate and execute joint promotional efforts.
• Oversees audience-facing communications through mailing lists, including newsletters and ticket announcements.
• Regularly updates the ensemble’s website, including biographies, images, media galleries, and event calendars, and so on.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Submits event information to relevant calendars, listings, and promotional platforms.
• Regularly checks for new subscribers and updates the Mailchimp mailing list accordingly.
• Coordinates hiring and scheduling of photographers and videographers within approved project budgets, to be overseen by Executive Director
• Assists with merchandise orders and additional marketing-related responsibilities in collaboration with the Executive Director.
• Maintains organizational consistency across promotional materials and communications.
• Assists with project coordination and communication between ensemble members, presenters, and external partners related to marketing activities.
• Creates, formats, and prints concert program materials for self-produced performances, to be overseen by Executive Director

Pay: $25.00 per hour
