Student Nurse Extern

Position Overview: Provides supportive patient care under RN supervision in a medical stepdown setting, assisting with routine nursing tasks, documentation, and equipment maintenance.

• Responsibilities: Performs assigned nursing activities, monitors patient responses, records vital signs, manages specimens, assists with daily living activities, and supports wound care and patient transfers.
• Completes accurate documentation, communicates effectively with staff, and maintains patient records and confidentiality.
• Participates in emergency response, ensures a safe environment, and adheres to infection control and safety protocols.
• Supports administrative duties such as clerical tasks, supply management, and preparing patients and environments for care.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including forensic and law enforcement when necessary.
  
  

Qualifications and Skills: Enrolled in an approved nursing program with fundamentals completed, CPR/BLS certified, and at least 1 year of patient care experience or equivalent training.
