The Advance Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant provides comprehensive reproductive health services at a family planning center, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management.
Must hold current, unrestricted Illinois prescriptive authority and APRN-NP certification preferred.
- Implement policies, obtain client histories, conduct counseling, and perform screenings based on clinical guidelines.
- Interpret lab results, educate clients on birth control options, and prescribe contraceptives and medications following program and manufacturer guidelines.
- Provide reproductive health counseling, document medical records, and assist in developing policies and procedures.
- Follow Illinois statutes related to reporting abuse and violence, working in collaboration with the Medical Director as per the APN agreement.
