Mental Health Technician
Role: Provide active patient care, supervision, and interaction as part of the treatment team under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities: Ensure a safe environment by conducting patient rounds, taking vital signs, responding to emergencies, de-escalating patients, and following policies on seclusion, restraint, and psychiatric emergencies. Assist with milieu management by monitoring patient behavior, identifying potential issues, conducting searches, and reporting hazards.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum one year of related experience preferred. Must complete CPR and Crisis Intervention training prior to start. Availability for orientation and a minimum of three shifts per pay period is necessary.
Skills: Knowledge of psychiatric patient care, ability to de-escalate, attentive to safety, and environmental awareness.
