CNC Programmer & Operator – Custom Wood Furniture About Black Wolf Design

For over 30 years, Black Wolf Design hasn’t just built furniture — we’ve created heirlooms. Every piece is custom-designed, hand-built, and finished to perfection for high-end interior designers serving discerning clients.

We’re a small, passionate team of craftsmen and women committed to excellence in every detail — from the first cut to the final finish. Our work blends artistry, precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality — the kind that makes people stop, stare, and run their hands across a surface in admiration.

Your Role as a CNC Programmer & Operator

As a CNC Programmer & Operator, you’ll take designs from high-end interior designers and turn them into reality — combining your precision programming skills with an artist’s eye for detail.

You’ll program and run CNC equipment to ensure parts are cut accurately, efficiently, and on schedule — bridging design intent with flawless fabrication and maintaining the highest quality standards.

You’re not just running a program — you’re shaping art.

  • 4-day work week option (40 hours / 32 minimum per week).

What We’re Looking For in a CNC Programmer & Operator

Personal Traits

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with teammates and clients.
  • Enjoys problem-solving and translating creative ideas into buildable plans.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, custom production environment.
  • Collaborative mindset — works well with both creative designers and hands-on craftsmen.
  • Maintains a clean, organized workspace.
  • Skilled with hand tools and comfortable working with your hands.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and wear a filter mask when needed.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (HSMWorks for SolidWorks, FusionCAM 360, or similar).
  • Proven experience machining solid wood on 3-axis CNC routers, with practical knowledge of species variation, grain patterns, and tear-out risk. Able to apply this understanding to toolpath decisions that minimize sanding and downstream finishing issues.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and joinery — both traditional and modern — for high-end furniture.

Key Responsibilities of a CNC Programmer & Operator

  • Program and operate the CNC router to produce parts accurately and on schedule.
  • Review and manage CAD drawings, accessing parts for manufacturing.
