Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our team, supporting directly the company’s investment management, acquisitions and leadership team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the analysis, underwriting, reporting and execution of investment opportunities across the Black Salmon platform to include investments in the industrial and multifamily/housing property sectors in various structures including funds, joint ventures, and co-investments. Responsibilities will include evaluating investments at the property and portfolio level and maintaining models across the platform.
The ideal candidate is a team player who works well with others, is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly skilled in financial modeling and valuation within the real estate investment property sector. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to institutional transactions, fund-level analytics, and a key participant in strategic investment management decisions across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed financial analysis, financial modeling, underwriting, and sensitivity analysis for potential acquisitions and developments across the industrial and multifamily property sectors. Build and maintain excel based cash flow models to evaluate asset-level and portfolio-level performance. Argus experience is a plus. Support the preparation of Investment Committee materials, including presentations, and underwriting summaries. Assist in the creation of investor offering materials and presentations. Conduct market research, maintain and mine market data and assist with benchmarking to support acquisition and disposition activities. Work closely with internal team and external stakeholders to coordinate due diligence and the closing processes. Track and analyze portfolio performance at both asset and fund levels to support fund management and reporting initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment real estate, investment banking, acquisitions and/or asset management within the industrial or multifamily property sectors.
- Strong proficiency in Argus Enterprise preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling (DCF, IRR, sensitivity, scenario analysis) mandatory.
- Experience preparing presentations and general marketing materials for investors and internal committees.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
