Opportunity in the financial services technology and risk analytics sector building enterprise-grade backend systems that power portfolio analytics, risk modelling, and market data processing. You will join an on-site engineering team in the United States delivering low-latency, resilient services to institutional customers under strict security and compliance requirements.

Role: Backend Engineer (On-site, United States)

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, low-latency microservices to support risk analytics, pricing, and data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop robust RESTful APIs and backend components, ensuring backward compatibility and clear API contracts.
• Build, maintain, and optimize relational and in-memory data stores for high-throughput workloads.
• Author automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments to accelerate safe releases.
• Instrument services with observability (metrics, tracing, logging) and operate production systems with proactive monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, quant, and infrastructure teams to translate domain requirements into reliable engineering solutions and uphold security/compliance standards.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven backend development experience using one or more of: Python, Java, Node.js
• Design and implementation of REST APIs
• Production experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Redis or equivalent in-memory stores
• Containerization using Docker
• Container orchestration using Kubernetes
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with AWS-managed services and cloud-native architectures
• Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Experience with gRPC or other RPC frameworks
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong background in system design, performance tuning and troubleshooting production systems.
• Domain experience in financial services, risk analytics, or market-data pipelines is a plus.
