Black River Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Patient Billing and Financial Services Manager. This position is primarily based at our 8 th Street Campus, with potential assignments across our organization. Don't miss out on this opportunity!
The Patient Billing & Financial Services Manager provides day-to-day oversight of revenue cycle and financial services operations, including billing, collections, cash posting, and patient financial services. This role ensures regulatory compliance, staff effectiveness, and performance outcomes that align with the organization's financial goals. The manager leads a team responsible for patient billing and follow-up processes and serves as a liaison between finance, clinical, and administrative departments.
This position is:
- Full-time, 80-hour per pay period, Monday - Friday, benefited
Essential Duties:
- Accomplishes business office functions including billing, claims submission, accounts receivable, cash posting, and patient collections by managing team members and planning and evaluating department activities.
- Allocates specified work or activities and communicates policies and objectives to team members. Gives work direction, resolves intra- and interdepartmental problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work with appropriate delegation to team members.
- Motivates and inspires revenue cycle business office team members by providing growth and development opportunities and helps team members recognize the barriers to growth and development. Establishes and maintains on-going training and education programs.
- Ensures timely and accurate claim submission to all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and self-pay.
- Coordinates denial management and payer reimbursement issues across revenue cycle teams, supporting resolution strategies.
Educational Qualifications:
- Associate degree or minimum equivalent experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle or healthcare business office operations required
- Minimum of 1 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of payer billing guidelines, claims processes, and reimbursement methodologies
- Experience with EHR and practice management systems (Epic and/or Cerner preferred)
