What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaper position at Black Oak Casino Resort?
SUMMARY: Responsible for keeping grounds and outside areas clean and free of debris and presenting the Casinos Guests a safe and pleasant environment at the Casino and other associated properties.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)
Prepares and amends soil, plants, flowers, shrubs and trees.
Installs weed fabric, ground covers and irrigation systems.
Maintains lawn areas, mows, rakes leaves, weed-eats and edges the area.
Plants and prunes trees, shrubs and flowers.
Removes debris from stairs and walks.
Waters trees, shrubs, lawns and performs irrigation activities.
Operates power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools and other equipment associated with landscaping activities.
Assists in the maintenance of parking lots and other surfaces including asphalt repair, minor masonry and plastering as needed.
Installs and removes outdoor signs, parking and traffic control barriers, and overhead banners as required.
Prepares grounds prior to special events and clean-up activities during and after special events.
Provides professional, courteous service and is cordial to all Team Members and Guests.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
May be required to possess and maintain a valid California Drivers license and a Black Oak Casino drivers permit.
Must be able to communicate using portable 2-way radios and/or cell phones.
Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
Required to work at heights such as on scaffolding or ladders.
Required to work around moving machinery with possible exposure to vibration, dust, gas, fumes, steam, or chemicals.
Required to wear protective equipment such as mask, earplugs, gloves, eyewear, weather gear, etc.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
