Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and pediatrics. Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADLs), and adaptive equipment training.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and strategies to enhance recovery.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Requirements
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey.
