Bookkeeper

Black Gallina Consulting is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team! We are a small accounting firm specializing in small businesses in food and drink, retail, food manufacturing, and alcohol distribution. Our focus is on providing Fortune 500 expertise to the small businesses that make up our neighborhoods. About 80% of our clients are located in Seattle, WA with the rest spread across the nation. We act as an out of house financial department for our clients providing payroll, AP/AR, accounting, and advisory services.

What Your Day to Day Will Look Like

• Maintain the customer’s accounting records on a day-to-day basis
• Work with the customer on the front line and answer any questions that they may have
• File and reconcile sales tax accounts (primarily Washington excise tax)
• Process payroll via Gusto
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Offer support to clients on the accounting apps used in your day-to-day work

What You Need to Succeed

• You can deliver spectacular customer service and you have experience in a customer facing role
• You are exceptionally detail oriented and organized
• You have an educational background in accounting or bookkeeping
• You have at least 3 year of bookkeeping experience
• You are tech-savvy
• You are a problem solver
• You are a clear communicator
• You are able to and like working in a fast-paced environment
• You are a pro at bank reconciliations and reconciling messy books
• You have handled reconciling sales taxes and filing the corresponding reports
• You have experience processing payroll (Gusto)
• You have experience using cloud accounting software (Quickbooks Online)
• You have experience paying suppliers (Plooto, Melio, etc)

A plus but not required

• Fluent in Spanish
• Have experience bookkeeping for a small business in retail, restaurant, or alcohol distribution industry.
• Experience with Teamwork project management software
• Experience with any of the following software: Syft Analytics, Dext/Receipt Bank, Notion, 1Password, Okta, Plooto
• Experience with integrations between software

In-person vs. Remote Work

Our firm is currently entirely remote with no plans to be in-person. We aim to gather in-person 1-2 times per year for an offsite meetup.
