BF - Store Manager

Job Purpose:   

The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of a Black Friday Daily Discount Store.  The Store Manager assumes responsibility for all activity within their assigned location and is accountable for all aspects of the store’s operation.  

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Always represent the store in a favorable manner, in keeping with Black Friday$ Mission, Vision, and Values. 

• Lead, motivate, encourage, and challenge team members toward excellent performance in keeping with company culture and values.  

• Manage daily operations of the store with a goal of meeting sales/performance benchmarks set by Area Manager and Leadership.  

• Work an approved schedule (40 hours minimum, approved by Director of Bin Stores) including opening and closing shifts on a regular basis. 

• Engage with customers and team members with the goal of creating a welcoming environment, address complaints and challenges professionally with the goal of achieving an agreeably amicable outcome.  

• Engage in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, and training of all direct reports.  Supervise, coach, and discipline direct reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.  

• Organize and lead periodic team meetings to address challenges, communicate policy/procedural changes, and motivate the team.  

• Direct team members to appropriately stock and merchandise the store in accordance with Area Manager’s guidelines.  

• Create and maintain employee schedules to meet the needs of the location and in line with budgeted hours

• Implement and enforce procedures to ensure that the store is clean and in good condition, equipment is well maintained, and product is well displayed.  

• Monitor and count safe(s), registers, deposits, and all cash handling in accordance with established procedures to ensure accuracy. 

• Document overages/shortages and discipline as needed (Store Manager is ultimately responsible for all cash on hand).  

• Engage in and contribute to Store Managers meeting with fellow managers.  

• Engage in clear communication with Leadership and fellow Store Managers to address challenges and share achievements to improve your operation as well as other stores.  

• Complete daily/weekly paperwork and/or computer tracking sheets.  

• Work with direct reports to prevent and limit loss of product both in terms of theft and breakage.  

• Follow and enforce all company policies and procures, document accordingly.  

• Completes other tasks as assigned by BF$ Leadership

Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• Ability to work for extended periods while standing

• Proficiency in Mathematics

• Proficiency in Google Suite programs

• Willingness to be coached, to learn, and to improve

• Preferred: Prior Experience Managing in a Retail Environment

• Preferred: Multilingual Proficiency

• Preferred: Experience Leading a Team
