Responsibilities
- Perform clothing alterations and repairs on a variety of garments.
- Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and construct complex garments.
- Assess fabric materials and garment construction details to determine the best alteration methods.
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs, offering professional advice, and ensuring satisfaction with finished products.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper handling of sewing equipment and fabric materials.
- Follow safety protocols when operating sewing machines, pressing equipment, and other tools to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in clothing alterations, garment sewing, and garment construction.
- Strong knowledge of fabric materials and stitching techniques.
- Skilled in hand sewing and operating various sewing machines with precision.
- Familiarity with stretch fabric is recommended but not required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about garment adjustments and expectations.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating alterations accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
