Registered Nurse (RN) - General Job Duties 

Clinical Care Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements for New York State

Education Requirements

• Complete a nursing education program registered by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for RN licensures, OR
  
• Complete a nursing education program that is determined by the State Education Department to be equivalent to New York State registered programs
  

Examination Requirement

• Pass the National Council Licensures Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)
  

Application Process

1. Submit an application for licensures and the required fee ($143)
   
2. Submit official transcripts verifying your nursing education
   
3. Register for and pass the NCLEX-RN examination
