Medical Assistant General Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature)

Requirements

General Requirements for Medical Assistant Positions

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification (preferred or required depending on facility)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred for most positions)
