Land Survey – Crew Chief
Our growth offers an opportunity for an experienced Crew Chief to join our team. The selected candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, construction layout and as-built surveys. Position will oversee daily field operations, ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards and will utilize Leica surveying equipment, Carlson GPS and Carlson data collection software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise one or more field survey team members
- Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys construction layout and as-built surveys
- Collect, process and verify field data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare field notes, sketches and daily photos for project
- Establish horizontal and vertical control networks
- Ensure all survey work complies with Company standards, project requirements and state surveying requirements
- Maintain survey equipment is in proper working condition and calibration as required
- Monitor crew productivity and provide training and mentoring to junior staff
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years of progressive experience in land surveying
- Proficiency operating Leica equipment, Carlson GPS and data collection software
- Thorough understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, field procedures and construction staking
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
