Do you have a good eye for details? Are you passionate for Health-care and patient safety? Our Sterile Processing Team wants to add a Sterile Processing Tech to their close knit team. Our ideal candidate will be friendly and have a strong teamwork ethic. Someone who is able to learn quickly and serious about producing 100% accurate sterile trays for the Digestive HEalth Center. Previous medical experience is preferred but not a requirement.

Overview
Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
Digestive Health Center provides gastrointestinal endoscopic exams to adults and geriatric persons in need of endoscopic exams. Besides direct observation, endoscopy enables biopsy, polyp removal, dilatation and stenting of strictures. Endoscopic exam can provide cautery to bleeding area and may including hemorrhoidal coagulation. Small bowel capsule endoscopy is also available through the Digestive Health Center. It is located on the 2nd floor of the Hatch Building.

Role Purpose
The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of central sterile processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the operating room (OR) and other areas throughout the hospital. Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify and remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining the appropriate and complete records.
