Title: SOX Senior Accounting Analyst
Duration: 7 Months
Location: Portland, OR - Hybrid
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as a key point of
contact in the development, documentation and implementation of controls
and processes. Create process narratives, flowcharts, risk/control
mapping, and identification of design gaps. Assist with training new
control/process owners regarding appropriate documentation and evidence of
operating effectiveness for key SOX controls. Participate in walkthroughs
of newly designed controls with internal and external audit teams.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, CPA certificate preferred
- 5 years of progressively
responsible accounting experience required, Public accounting experience
is preferred
- Knowledge of generally
accepted accounting principles
- Strong working knowledge of
SOX compliance and remediation requirements
- Understands business
processes, process and IT controls and their impact on financial reporting
- Must combine attention to
detail with the ability to envision the big picture
- Must have a high degree of
proficiency in organization, planning and project management
- Requires outstanding ethical
standards consistent with company policies, procedures and practices, etc.
- Proven ability to function in
a team environment and act as a technical resource and provide information
and training to others
- Strong PC Skills for word
processing, spreadsheet and database applications
- Excellent verbal skills,
ability to apply group facilitation techniques and make group
presentations
- Strong writing skills,
including task documentation and report writing
- Proven ability to meet
deadlines, including strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work and interact
cross-functionally
Preferred:
- Experience in utility
industry or related business environment
- Demonstrated background in
applying analytical/accounting research skills
- Experience with SAP and/or
CUSI
