Job Description
Directly
manages the successful development and execution of physical security related
capital projects in support of business requirements at NV Energy’s substation,
generation, general office and operation center locations throughout the state
of Nevada. Performs responsibilities as directed within determined time frames
and with a high degree of accuracy. Works independently and ensures deadlines
are met with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
- Leads the development of
physical security project plans and design documentation, including
project scope, cost estimates, schedule, cash flows and project approvals.
Ensures approved designs adhere to approved company standards.
- Leads or participates in
project teams with major projects, substation design and construction,
engineering standards, and others to develop an actionable scope of work,
evaluate alternatives and finalize an approved project scope in support of
substation, generation, transmission and general office related
projects.
- Coordinates procurement,
negotiation, execution and administration of construction contracts with
general contractors, security integrators and other consultants.
- Executes approved project
plans. Coordinates acquisition of resources, equipment,
permits. Manages and controls the project, including safety,
scope, schedule, budget and quality. Measures and communicates
project performance to stakeholders. Manages changes to the
project plan. Ensures all project objectives are achieved.
- Develop formal proposals for
hardware and software component purchases and participate in negotiations
with vendors. Working with supply chain, manage the provisioning of
security systems, including technical support and training.
- Coordinates project
close-out, including final acceptance of project deliverables; project
accounting audit and true-up and completion of final project report.
- Ensures all compliance
aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with
all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited school in engineering, construction management, project
management or related field with 2 or more years of project management
and/or security related construction experience.
- Candidates that do not
possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 4 years of project
management experience.
- Project management practices
with an emphasis on construction methods; scheduling; budget management;
adherence to company policies, rules and regulations; contract
administration; equipment specifications; local, state and federal
permitting requirements.
- Experience with physical
security or telecom systems in the utility sector, particularly in
critical infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity physical security
technologies (e.g., surveillance cameras, perimeter detection, access
control, etc) includi
- ng designing and implementing
security design packages.
- Experience working with NERC
CIP compliance or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Document management and
collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
- Project management software
(e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
- AutoCAD or other
design/drawing review tools.
