Job Title: Data Analytics Consultant
Job Description:
Data Analytics Consultant will support a critical implementation of the enterprise performance management (EPM) tool OneStream and the decommissioning of an existing Oracle-based Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system. A System Integrator (SI) and a project roadmap are already in place.
This role demands a combination of business and technical expertise, a keen eye for data accuracy, and collaboration across cross-functional teams during a significant transformation phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and a third-party System Integrator (SI) to validate data integrity during the one-time data migration, ensuring accuracy in financial records, hierarchies, and reporting structures.
- Execute data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) using scripts provided by the SI, reconciling discrepancies between legacy Hyperion data and OneStream outputs.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards using data extracted from OneStream to automate reporting and provide actionable insights on revenue, expenses, and balance sheet data.
- Train end-users on Power BI dashboards and OneStream reporting features to support adoption and maximize usability.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role within the financial services industry
- Investment banking industry experience
- Proficiency in BI tools, particularly Power BI and SQL, including writing DAX code for complex calculations and ETL processes
- Strong background in data validation
- Strong understanding of databases and OLAP cubes, and experience integrating data into Power BI semantic layers
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective storytelling and presentation skills to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Data Analytics or a related discipline
- Familiarity with General Ledger concepts such as profit/cost centers, trade books, variable vs. allocated expenses, etc., within an investment banking context
- Hands-on experience with EPM tools like Hyperion and OneStream, and ERP platforms such as SAP
