A private international boarding school is seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) School Counselor to support high school students in their academic, emotional, and social development. The role involves providing individual and group counseling, crisis support, and developing a school-wide wellness and mental health curriculum for students, faculty, and staff. The position is full-time, on-campus, and includes collaboration with a diverse residential school community.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (spoken, written, and reading)
- Master’s degree or higher in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Active NY State licensure (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent)
- Experience working with adolescents in a school or clinical setting
- Ability to design or implement wellness / SEL programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural, residential school environment
- Experience with boarding school or international student populations preferred
- Crisis intervention and student mental health support experience preferred
