Analyst – ESAG
BizFirst is assisting our client with
recruiting a full-time Working Capital Fund Accounting Lead Analyst to
support the Enterprise Space Activity Group (ESAG) initiative with the U.S.
Space Force. Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs
professionals with niche expertise to help the federal government execute
strategic initiatives, modernize financial systems, and ensure operational
excellence within defense programs.

What You Will Do
In this role, you will serve as the lead
accounting professional overseeing key financial operations, reporting, and
analysis within the Air Force Working Capital Fund (WCF) environment. You will
provide subject matter expertise on federal accounting standards, lead
financial closeout and reconciliation efforts, and ensure the accuracy and
integrity of accounting data to support decision-making and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations and
lead the execution of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeout
processes within the WCF
- Ensure compliance with federal
accounting standards (e.g., SFFAS) and DoD financial policies
- Lead the preparation and
validation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal
control documentation
- Provide detailed analysis of
accounting transactions, adjustments, and variances
- Supervise and mentor junior
accounting staff to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of
financial deliverables
- Support audit readiness,
remediation planning, and responses to inquiries from external oversight
bodies (e.g., DCAA, DFAS)
- Interface with key systems
including ADVANA, QDD, and standard DoD accounting platforms
- Coordinate with stakeholders
across finance, operations, and leadership to ensure alignment of
accounting outputs with mission requirements
- Prepare and deliver briefings,
technical memoranda, and presentations related to accounting performance
and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (any field)
- Experience Requirements (one of
the following):
- 10 years of financial management
experience in a Working Capital Fund (WCF) environment, OR
- 5 years of WCF experience PLUS
one of these credentials:
- Masters in Business
Administration (MBA)
- Certified Defense Finance
Manager (CDFM)
- Certified Government Financial
Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Public Accountant
(CPA)
- Preferred: Experience in
accounting operations management
- Preferred: DISA FAMIS experience.
- Security Clearance: Secret or
higher.
