Job Summary
The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects, with a focus in all realms of the construction industry. This role requires specialized knowledge of mechanical systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Accurately estimate costs for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Perform quantity take-offs from project drawings and specifications.
- Provide cost projections for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather data.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability.
Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC, plumbing, or construction).
- Proven experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in pipeline, commercial, and renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and process piping.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
- Familiarity with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and green building.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
