Purchasing Buyer

Bishop & Company is seeking a skilled Buyer for a temporary assignment through next year, with the potential for extension. This opportunity offers hybrid work flexibility with two days a week in their Honolulu office.

Key Responsibilities

• Use SAP and related systems to process purchase orders and procure goods/services
• Review contracts and purchase order provisions for risk mitigation
• Resolve vendor disputes regarding delivery, invoicing, and payment discrepancies
• Solicit and evaluate competitive bids, coordinate the bid process, and recommend best value options
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve purchase order and invoice issues
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal customers
• Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and ethical guidelines

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related work or business experience, preferably in purchasing or a closely related field
• Working knowledge of purchasing systems, techniques, and procedures
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines

Compensation

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The hourly pay range for this position is typically $30-$33/hr. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
