POSITION SUMMARY

The Deli Cook is responsible for ensuring continuous delivery of exceptional guest service, ensuring superior quality and freshness of all food products.  Preparing products to be used in receipts, maintaining appropriate product assortment, and product levels.  Creating a variety of appealing product displays to attract guests, and understand all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Maintains a courteous and friendly attitude towards guests.
  2. Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items in compliance with quality standards and procedures.  
  3. Create pizzas for guests as listed or requested and operate a pizza oven.   
  4. Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased. 
  5. Operates, clean surfaces and equipment after each use to maintain the sanitary conditions need for food preparation.
  6. Handle all products properly while meeting health and safety standards.
  7. Knows proper food rotation procedures.
  8. Operate cash register (POS), cash handling, process guests sales and handle cash transactions efficiently. 
  9. Perform opening, closing and side work duties as instructed according to proper guidelines.
  10. Use safety wear and gloves when appropriate.
  11. All other duties as assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience preferred.   
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior food preparation experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets.
  • Ability to use kitchen tools safely such as knives and small equipment ware.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Other Requirements

  • A Food Handler’s Card is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must pass Title 31 within first 30 days of employment.
  • An excellent appearance is required and must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly.  
  • Must be able to work various schedules, on an as-needed basis; as work schedules could vary and will involve day, evening, or nighttime hours during the week and/or on weekends.  
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License.  Must pass an extensive background check.  
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.  


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully; the Team Member must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   The demands described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. 

  • Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs., and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales.  
  • Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching and manual dexterity sufficient to grasp, chop, mix, blend, whip etc. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of the Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Noise levels are moderate to loud.   
  • Climate is subject to change from hot to cold.
