Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate 6th-8th Grade Resource Teacher to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for educators passionate about supporting diverse learners, providing tailored interventions, and advocating for student success in a faith-based environment. The Resource Teacher plays a pivotal role in ensuring every student has the tools they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Push-In Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to assist students who need extra academic help within the general classroom setting.
- Targeted Interventions: Provide individualized or small-group Tier 2 interventions during study halls and designated periods.
- Student Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for students with learning needs, ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed.
- 504 Plan Management: Assist in writing, implementing, and tracking 504 plans, working closely with teachers, parents, and administration.
- Assessment Support: Help administer and track the FAST assessment to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers, parents, and staff to develop and implement strategies that address diverse learning needs.
- Faith Integration: Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions, supporting the spiritual growth of students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)
- Valid Iowa Teaching License (required)
- Experience in special education or resource teaching is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
