Position Overview
The School Counselor serves as a primary academic advisor, college counselor, and social-emotional resource for students. Working collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administrators, the counselor supports students' intellectual, personal, and social growth while helping them make informed and individually appropriate academic, educational, and post-secondary decisions.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, student-centered professional who values relationship-building, collaboration, and the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
●Provide academic, social-emotional, and college counseling to students.
●Guide students through course selection, educational planning, and the college application process.
●Support students' personal and social development through individual and group counseling.
●Partner with parents, faculty, and administrators to promote student success and well-being.
●Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
●Collaborate with the School Counseling Department to support school-wide initiatives and programming.
Qualifications
Required
●Commitment to the mission of a diocesan Catholic high school.
●Master's degree in Counseling or a related field.
●Strong oral and written communication skills.
●Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
●Computer proficiency and the ability to manage student data.
Preferred
●Massachusetts DESE School Counselor (9–12) licensure.
●Experience working with high school students.
●Experience providing social-emotional and mental health counseling.
●Familiarity with Scoir and Google Workspace applications.
●Minimum of three years of full-time experience in teaching, school counseling, or college admission counseling.
