Position Overview
Bishop & Company is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support one of our client's Human Resources Operations team. This temporary assignment is ideal for an HR professional with experience in benefits administration, onboarding, HRIS management, compliance, and employee support. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Serve as the primary contact for health and welfare benefit plans.
- Administer enrollments, changes, terminations, billing, payment requests, and benefit communications.
- Assist employees with benefit-related questions and escalate issues as needed.
- Coordinate pre-employment activities with new hires, hiring managers, and internal partners.
- Manage background checks and pre-employment requirements.
- Schedule start dates and new hire orientations.
- Conduct onboarding audits to ensure compliance.
- Administer the employee referral program.
- Assist with the development and implementation of employee wellness initiatives.
- Track program participation and report outcomes.
- Support employee education and communication efforts, including benefits enrollment, orientations, training, and company notices.
- Process personnel actions including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations within the HRIS.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity.
- Prepare and maintain recruitment reports and staffing metrics for leadership.
- Enhance dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility into recruiting and HR trends.
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee and external inquiries.
- Support process improvement initiatives, research, analysis, and administrative projects.
- Provide backup support for leave administration and NMLS-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Complete required compliance reporting and distribute regulatory notices.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in one or more of the following areas:
- Employee Benefits Administration
- HRIS Management
- Employee Onboarding
- Recruiting
- HR Administration
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field in lieu of the required work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Customer-service oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
