Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation to support kitchen operations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food processors
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic work environment
- Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals and accommodating dietary restrictions
- Maintain high-volume production standards during busy service periods while ensuring consistency and quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures is essential
- Strong knife skills and proficiency with various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production processes
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments with high-volume production demands
