POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events and Development Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising and development efforts in the Western Region. This position will be central to cultivating and managing donor relationships, coordinating fundraising events, and ensuring the efficient execution of all development initiatives within the Western Region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Local Event Implementation
- Planning and Execution: Support the planning and professional execution of all regional fundraising events, including identifying and securing vendors, invoice processing, and coordinating speakers. Ensure all events are delivered seamlessly, on time, and within budget, with a high standard of donor experience and brand alignment.
- On-site Management: Oversee end-to-end on-site event production, including registration, seamless guest arrival and flow, run of show, and collaborating with all vendors (AV, florals, catering, etc.) to deliver a polished and memorable event.
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
- Advanced Communications: Oversee the development and timely dispatch of select regional donor communications, including invitations, personalized stewardship reports, and billing inquiries, ensuring a high degree of professionalism and alignment with brand standards.
- Prospect Research Strategy: Serve as liaison between regional fundraising team and IT Team for prospect research on high-value individuals, corporations, and foundations, with the goal of significantly expanding BRIF’s donor base.
- Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Support: Support local fundraisers in identifying donors for effective post-event cultivation, opportunities for leadership roles in the community, follow-up in connection with asks, and overall stewardship touchpoints.
Operations and Team Collaboration
- Data Integrity and Reporting: Ensure the integrity of the regional donor data in the Salesforce CRM. Develop and run sophisticated reports to analyze fundraising performance, track donor retention, support gift processing and inform strategic decisions for the VP, Western Region.
- Process Improvement: Provide administrative support to the Western Regional team and lead efforts to enhance departmental efficiency, which may include training and designing new standardized processes.
- Culture: Help BRIF reach its highest potential by supporting BRIF’s efforts to strengthen workplace culture, including a focus on helping to recruit top talent to join the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Minimum of 3-to-5 years of progressively responsible, hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, sales, or event management, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated comfort and effectiveness in engaging and stewarding C-suite executives and high-net-worth individuals.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects autonomously, lead event committees or volunteers, and thrive in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proven experience in managing and leveraging Salesforce or similar donor management software for strategic reporting and pipeline management.
