Thread Rolling Machine Operator

Position: Roll Thread Operator 

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Production Manager

Summary

Roll Thread Operator will be responsible for threading headed and non-headed product in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a tidy work area.  

Essential Functions/Duties:

1. Setup and Operate roll head threading machine
2. Push/pull/turn tables of steel bars as needed to thread and advance through the production process once complete
3. Inspect product after threading to ensure proper functionality
4. May inspect work using tape, ring gauge, or micrometer to verify dimensions 
5. Cleans as needed to maintain a tidy workstation
6. Performs other duties as required

Physical/Cognitive Demands

This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression. This job operates in manufacturing plant setting.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy machinery, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can at times be loud; the use of hearing protection is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical work days/hours are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Mandatory weekend and overtime hours are required on a recurring basis.

Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. 2 years’ experience operating large machinery
